Mbaise is a community in Imo state. Imo state is one of the 36 states in Nigeria, and it is located in the south eastern part of the country. It has a population of 4.8 Million people. The capital is Owerri. The inhabitants of Imo state belong to the lgbo tribe, a culturally homogeneous group. The lgbo language is spoken throughout the state with minor differences in dialects. The official language of the state is however, English. There are 27 local governments in Imo State.
Mbaise is made up of three local government areas namely: Aboh Mbaise Local Government, Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government and Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government. The name "Mbaise" was derived from five cities: Agbaaja, Ahiara, Ekwereazu, Ezi na Ihite and Oke Ovoro.
